Ingredients
- 1 cup hot water, just off the boil
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, thinly sliced
- Juice of half a lemon
- 1 teaspoon raw honey
- A pinch of black pepper
Method
- Pour hot water over the sliced ginger and let it steep for three minutes.
- Stir in the lemon juice and honey until dissolved.
- Add the pinch of black pepper and sip slowly.
Notes & Substitutions
No fresh ginger?
Use ¼ teaspoon ground ginger instead, added with the honey rather than steeped.
No raw honey?
Maple syrup works as a substitute, though the flavor will be slightly less rounded.
